#25 The WhatsApp Tragedy

There is good news for me, and that is that my course lent us an iPad for a year and it kind of belong to us till the end of year 3 semester 1. Perks of being a DTVMer. This is one reason why I like my course. Sad thing is, just like my phone, Whatsapp is freaking not available to it!!!

Wednesday
So on Wednesday, we have Documentary Making class as usual. Did a mock test and watched some more documentaries. Watched one about "The Elephant Man", about a guy with overgrown skin hanging on him, and a poetic documentary about the irony of human and the power of money. The second one is a poetic documentary and is expressed in a really random manner. Quite funny. So this week, the animal we feel sorry for is human. We have dolphins, chickens, and humans so far.

After class, we stayed back for around 3 hours to attend a Mob Fest, which we decided to skip in the end. Anyway, went to the library to play this gift box boardgame, which was fun. It's quite amusing to see people super good at giving gifts but super bad at receiving them.

We did go for the Mobfest for awhile, but decided to leave after eating a donut and getting a free $20 singtel voucher. Speaking of Singtel, I should start choosing what phone to change to. I'm so desperate I don't mind spending $200 extra because my contract hasn't ended or something.

Thursday
Mostly did the editing for our CP2 CA1. Going to have another filming two weeks later. This is super fast, but fast is sometimes good. Anyway, I have a newly found dislike for editing. It's so troublesome. I'm quite happy with the footages we got, but I think we chose the wrong place to film. There's not much story there.

Friday
This is today. Headed to school in the morning for SIP. Even though we missed 2 lessons, my very reasonable lecturer decided to just rush through everything :D Even though it's supposingly a rushed lesson, it's still so long-winded. I hate that GenEd likes to chimify simple things, and it beats about the bush. Got my group, and mine is a 5-person group. The group is fine, I guess.

Had Total Journalism lesson after that. First of all, we got our iPads. Second, we had the typical lecture. Third, we did an activity in which we were supposed to create our own newspaper. Finally, some Japanese high school students came into our class for 15 minutes to observe the lesson for 5 minutes. The remaining time were for us to interview them and try out some recording app in our iPads. Avelin and I worked together and interviewed this rather quiet and reserved guy. We three are all quite reserved, so it was a pretty weird interview. I think we have to write a profile piece next week.

Headed to Woodlands to dine with Cx after class. Walked around a little before finally settling for Pastamania. Chatted for an hour or so after that before heading off.

This is quite a short post. Actually the main reason why I'm writing this post in the first place is because I felt a need to whine about the whole iPad not being able to download Whatsapp thing -.- So, I guess that's that.
