So the hauted house thing had ended. It went great, I suppose. People were either scared or having fun. There were mistakes here and there such as not having enough lighting, people were screaming their lungs out as scarers. But the ambience was good. I shall talk about the final phases of preparation and the day itself.
Final preparations
During the week of the event, we were preparing everyday for it. Did last minute props, such as hands, tombstones, dolls, heads, masks, etc. Wai Meng and I worked on the advertising posters as well. Pasted posters around. Many people helped up. Fun process.
Thursday was the best. Got pretty high after staying back for last minute set-up. Taped up the windows, made the walls, did final props like cage, oven, and tombstones. Hanged up dolls. Did stupid things like fencing with Elijah with the props, hearing people scream every time the lights are off, accidentally lying on Hazel, who was burying herself in the garbage bag (for who knows what reason o_o) . Also did serious stuff like polishing up the tombstones, finishing up dolls, and stuff. All the props were just so cool. So proud of us. Wanted to stay over, but we were not allowed to.
Execution
Friday was the day it would be happening. Did final touch-ups, makeup, and one dry run. Set up the booth, which Wai Meng, Yvette, Avelin, and I manned. Tried to do on-the-spot marketing and kind of failed. Thanks to relations, we managed to make $230! The day was pretty fun, setting things up, seeing everyone work together, enjoying the ambience, and just trying our best. Of course there were negative moments too, but as Ms Gamar said when we were chatting with her, it would be too fake if there's no negatives. She say the most logical things.
After four hours, we packed up and tore down the stuff. Damages done to the room. But it's okay, we did it, though I won't be shocked if SP no longer allows haunted houses in the future due to damages. On the bright side, everyone did such a great job :)
Class field trip
Went to this museum for the opening reception of an exhibition about post-war Singapore (not sure whether it's an exhibition or museum or what). Took photo with SR Nathan, read up, looked around, and went to an interactive corner to colour a page. I coloured with Joey, here's a picture of ours:
And everyone elses's.
Went to chat at Starbucks after that. Ended up playing random "games" in which we answered weird questions like "if you were an ice-cream, what flavour would you be?" o_o It was fun though, haha.
Went home after that.
