Recounts and Ramblings #7

Some journal entry kind of update again. It's the holidays now. Today is the last week of the exam week, and for my class, there's no school, and my course don't have exams, so I'm having a personal day at home now.

Sakura
Last last Saturday, we went to celebrate me dad's birthday at Sakura. My first time there. Maybe it's because my mum over-praise it, I had really high expectations of the place, but it turns out okay. Regular buffet, but with more variety. Could've been a more enjoyable dinner, though, if not for my headache. I embarrassingly took other people's raw satay, thinking it's for people to take, and realise too late that it belongs to other people and that it is raw in the first place. But I had a headache, so it's normal to not think :D :| :(

Dad's real birthday
When we went to Sakura last last Saturday, it was meant to celebrate my dad's birthday, which was actually last Sunday. Bought cake and just celebrated it like that. Don't know what else to describe :/

Books
Recently read 2 books: Mice and Never Let Me Go. Mice was nice (it rhymes). It's about these mother and daughter who was often stepped all over by more superior people in their lives. They moved to this secluded house to continue living peacefully after the father betrayed the mother. However, someone broke in to the house and took their stuff. He even threaten to come back the next day. The daughter lost it and killed the man. This story shows how the mother and daughter hide the murder and live with their conscience.

Never Let Me Go was fine. Maybe I had too high of expectations for it because of all the praises it gets. It's about a fictional time when clones are created purely to donate organs to real people. This story talks about how the clones live and how they die. The ending is quite sad.

School
This is the MST week, so there wasn't GenEd, SFL, dip plus, and CCA. Quite relaxed. Plus, Friday's lesson was moved to Wednesday. So Friday, which is today, doesn't have lesson. Tuesday was really short because we just needed to come for our group's consultation slot. Wednesday, we went ice-skating as part of the lesson to get a feel of ice-skating in Jcube so we can write an article about it. Quite fun. Want to ice skate again :) And Thursday, woke up "on the wrong side of the bed", not literally. In a bad mood, falling sick and stuff. We went to Memories of Old Fort Factory to learn about the Japanese Occupation and learn how to write an exhibition tour script, which we're going to write for Philosophy, Psychology & Society CA2. The trip was quite interesting, got to know details on how cruel the soldiers were.

Eyesight
A very random part of this entry is dedicated to mentioning that I think that my eyesight is getting worse. How? :( To be honest, I haven't been doing eye exercises or taking eye break, so it's probably not due to those.
