Just a warning: This is going to be a crap post. With that, I shall start.
One thing that interest me a lot is supernatural things that are not scary. Things like spirits, demons, and so on are scary, so I'm not that interested in these. What I like are things like the four elements, fighting with swords, spears, and arrows (as oppose to guns), psychic, and basically the kind of thing you'll find in role-playing games and certain animes. Special powers like mysterious fruits which give special abilities (I'm so talking about One Piece) are great too.
I don't really have much of a reason why I like all these things. Perhaps it's because it's not part of our reality and, as our lecturer Swee Lin said, reality is a boring place. When I watch shows, play games, write stuff, or read stories/mangas, there is always that extra bit of fun with all these supernatural elements. A little bit of ghosts and mystery are good too. Shows like 'Lost' appeal to me because it isn't just about random people stranded on a random island. These people are stranded on a mythical and mysterious island.
Honestly, sometimes I get sick of how 'real' things are. Isn't it nice to just throw yourself into fantasy worlds and pretend that reality isn't there?
In real life, I tend to believe in these supposedly superstitious stuff, which is why I get really agitated when people try their best to prove me/others wrong. I believe in it, and I feel that they are real. I really believe there are psychic powers, that astrology is real, that tarots are real, that religions are real, that the law of attraction is real (I think there is an element of science in it anyway), and that there is a possibility of an unknown monster popping out anytime.
Maybe you don't believe in them, but that doesn't mean it isn't real. Sorry if I sounded agitated. I just feel a need to explain why I am so stubborn about things are are supposedly "fake".
Back to topic, as much as the dragon and magic kind of fantasy interest me, guns and cars just aren't my cups of tea.
