So school has temporarily came to a closure. It's the mid-semester break for us polytechnic people. By right, I was suppose to do this internship, but because they didn't reply me, I'm assuming they don't want me. Which means I get to rest this whole holiday! :)
Last Thursday
Content Production 2 (CP2). Basically, I went to school to receive footages from Yvette and started up on my editing. To sum up, my group was working on a documentary about foreign workers and residence of Serangoon Gardens. The footages were not with me, so I got it from Yvette and started editing on Thursday. Headed to J-Cube to walk around after school with Cx and Mj. Sat at the kopitiam after that to rest. Ended up chatting about random stuffs like family, how we intend to raise our future children (although it's a little far fetch), and fortune reading.
Last Friday
We had Social Innovation Project. This week, we came up with a persona. My group is working on giving elderlies a comfortable sleep, so we came up with someone who can't sleep well and called him "Ah Tiong". After that, headed to Clementi to celebrate Cx's birthday. Ramen Ten.
Returned to school for Total Journalism. Lesson on broadcast journalism and such. I'm not really excited on becoming a journalist anymore. Not my thing. Anyway, went to the hilltop library to watch the news as a class while Ms Gamar deconstructed the different parts of the news.
Last Weekends
Finished up on Mawaru Penguindrum (see 2 posts ago) and finished the first cut of my editing for CP2. Went to see another doctor again because I've finished my medicine and my stomach's still not good, plus I was kind of paranoid that there's more to my stomach than wind. Turns out that my stomach wind is being horrible. But this doctor is my family doctor and she's the best. I can tell.
Monday
For Web Publishing this week, there's no design thinking. Instead, we did a mock-pitch to Mr Esman to get him to comment on our pitch. Our CA2 is to use design thinking to conceptualise an idea to revamp an organisation's website, and then pitch it. My group's client is Singapore Insurance Institute (SII). Anyway, the pitching took half the lesson away, and the other half was spent stuggling with the Dreamweaver. Let's not elaborate on this. Good news was, there was no dip-plus and I could head home to rest early.
Tuesday
Writing for the New and Interactive Media was about ebooks and e-magazines. As usual, we were released one hour early. Went to Delifrance at Paya Lebar to have lunch with Joey, Stefanie, Avelin, Mj, and Cx. Talked about random stuffs again. Decided to have a Christmas party and we came up with this Project Turkey or something, but the party's not going to have turkey, so... :P
Wednesday
A rather painful day. Had Documentary Making (DM) and Content Production 2 back to back. Received our DM CA2 and CP2 CA10 already. Apparently we have to research and pitch a documentary concept, and then write a script, and then do pre-production and then shoot it. And then edit it. Good thing is each group only need to submit one video, so someone will be the editor, and it's definitely not me.
Edited for CP2 CA2. I'm sorry everyone around me have to bear with my frustration, but it's really painful. Everything was just going wrong. Luckily I kind of consulted Mr Chee Teng and he pointed out that my resolution is wrong. Anyway, consulted Ms May Lin near evening at my consultation time slot, and she pointed out so many errors. I feel so hopeless for this assignment T_T
Thursday
Didn't have lesson. Instead, went to some hotel to attend the ATA showcase and Superpitch. Basically, the ATA showcase is where good film people come and talk about issues and Superpitch is where people sell their concepts for the television.
I signed up for the Technical&Creative talk for the ATA showcase. It was honestly kind of boring and draggy. They mentioned about things like dealing with what we have to film and 3D TV. For the Superpitch, I signed up for Documentary because I wanted to compare good and bad documentary ideas. There were six pitches, and they had to compete to see whose documentary is chosen to be funded and all those. My favourite one was about some people searching for wreckages and stuff. There are supernatural elements, but it's still a documentary. Interesting. But it isn't chosen. Instead, some history film was chosen. I guess I just can't comprehend the beauty of history.
Friday
Last day of the term! Finished up on my CP2 CA2 and submitted it. I'm so relieved. No need to do editing anymore. Got back our results for DM and CP2 CA1s. I think I did better for my CA1 than CA2, but I didn't score well for my CA1, plus the lecturers said they were being lenient. D:
Had Stefanie's Tiramisu and Mj gave us candy canes :)
After a lengthy 2-hour break, headed to the Writers' Room for Total Journalism. Today was more of our CA2 discussion. We had to come up with a newspaper. I grouped with Joey, Avelin, and Stefanie. Our newspaper is titled "F's The Word".
Helped to be "talents" for a welcome-the-new-principal video as well as a DTVM promo video. The rest of the lesson was mostly photojournalism. Rushed off to meet Jt and Guangyi after that.
Couldn't decide where to go, so we went to Buona Vista to explore the new shopping mall. It's indeed full of expensive foods. Decided on Manhattan. Explored the menu and decided to be a little more generous this time, but sadly the whole stomach flu business is too restrictive. But at least, thanks to Jt, I realise that it's normal to have a stomach flu that lasts for sooo long. Chatted while Jt seems to struggle to finish her extremely big portion of fish thing, and MRTed to Clementi.
Looked around and chatted a little. Walked around NTUC and decided to return home.
I just feel that this week had been painful. I was trying to cope with things and trying so hard to keep calm and happy, but I just kept losing my temper one time after another. I know apologies are pointless, but I'm still quite sorry. Maybe the holidays is time to cool off.
