Group shot before Wei Jian leaves for Brunei
This month had been a little different because the recruits came in for their PTP phase and it's a whole new experience altogether. Before I get to that, there are things closer to home I would share about.
Let's start with the fact that today is a Friday and I'm booking in later. Basically, I've been clearing my two days of off yesterday and today. I met Zi Xing this morning because he happened to be clearing his off too. He has so many. We met for breakfast. Originally, we wanted to have Ya Kun, but then there was too many people, so we ended up going for Nasi Lemak. Basically, hanged out a while.
Yesterday, I did a bunch of things that I haven't done alone for a long time already, such as going for a swim, having breakfast in my neighbourhood, and attempting to binge-watch 'Tyrant' while eating cheese fries. I thoroughly enjoyed it, although today felt a little lonely. I get lonely too easily. It sucks.
Let's now return to the beginning of the month.
National day was actually good because I went back to look through some NDP songs and it brought back some memories as well as sparked some patriotism in me. Even "oooh~oooh" wasn't that bad.
I've already mentioned that Wei Jian left for Brunei for a year; we sent him to the airport - we being his family, Jessica, Jt, Zi Xing, and I. That night, Jt and I went to Bishan Park to chat. It had, once again, been so long since I went to Bishan Park. A quarter of a year just flew past miserably.
I didn't manage to watch NDP with my family or friends this year because I was doing guard duty in camp. After that was meant to be three weeks of confinement because the recruits would be coming in on the following Friday.
Taking recruits is kind of fun, especially during PTP phase, when the annoying stuffs haven't kicked in yet. I am attached to platoon two of Alpha company, and all is well so far. It's kind of good life for now, with the amount of freedom as compared to our recruit days, cadet days, and UIP days to some extent. I'm also kind of impressed with the platoon's recruits, although no group is perfect. Still.
I haven't yet mentioned that I met up with someone I met online for once, but I fell sick on that day so I didn't have the capacity to be enthusiastic. Just felt it was worth a mention.
So... That's it for August. Bye.
