First off, it's half a holiday for me now :D Maybe I said that in the previous post, I don't know. Only two assignments left, and no school. One is a group filming assignment and the editor is doing the rest of the job. There's nothing much the rest of us can do now :/ And the other is a photojournalism assignment, which I'm 80% done. Just left with the collating and captioning.
Tuesday
Monday was movie screening for Esman's class. Watched Sinister, as I've mentioned previously. On Tuesday, met up with Matin, Hazel, Pascal, Joey, and Stefanie to watch Ah Boys to Men 2. I liked it, because I feel that Jack Neo really knows how to tug on people's hearts. It's not the structure and storyline that's good, it's more of how he squeezes out much laughter and tears for each scene. Of course, he strategically exposed us to the characters as well. Actually began to like the characters.
Played a really short game of Pool (around 30 minutes?) before parting ways with Matin, Hazel, and Pascal, who were rushing off. Joey and Stefanie accompanied me to Qisahn to buy Ni No Kuni after that :D We got lost and the security guard laughed at us when we asked for directions o.o How do people not get lost in Orchard?? I know you're totally judging me.
We're (or at least I am) sheeps that always have shepherds to lead us around.
Wednesday/Thursday
On Wednesday, we went to school for Documentary test. 3 hours. For one part of the test, we had to analyse a film about Chinese primary school kids competing to be elected as class monitor.
Then there was this annoying, manipulative moderately fat kid who tried to sabotage another guy and taunted his opponents till they cried. And he totally shoo-ed his mother out of the living room and openly said stuff like "I'm want to be the monitor so people must obey me".
I don't know. Towards the end of these 2 documentary modules, I'm starting to gain some interest in them. I may not be highly against making documentaries for future projects.
On Thursday, we had feedback session for the fine cut of our film. Also submitted our social media assignment, so you won't see me bugging you guys over it anymore! :D And if you've helped us like/follow/comment/share/view anything, many thanks~
Saturday/Sunday
On Saturday, Jt accompanied me for part 1 of my photojournalism. Went to Pasir Ris Park to take photos of families having fun (my topic is about things to do with your family on a weekend), but there were really few people around. Luckily we saw some pretty cool and moderately heartwarming scenes of friendly people enjoying family time. Next, we had some yoghurt plus rest at WhiteSands before heading to our next destination.
Reached Rochor Road in the late afternoon, nearing evening. Got some great shots and reminisce a little over those times when my family would frequent this place for prayers and religious shopping. They had this animal horoscope thing there which many people were reading. I didn't because I was too engrossed with the assignment :/
And next, we rushed off to J-cube to stalk little kiddies in the ice-skating rink. Also bought 'Power of Six' which I had been searching for for a millennium (=1000 yrs). Jt lent me $20. Now I owe 3 people money. I always owe people money, which is a really bad thing.
But that wasn't the end of our journey. We took a bus to Jt's house area next to photograph families having fun in a pasa malam. She brought me to a rooftop garden in her flat. It was so pretty and nice. I was feeling supremely hungry, and I had to rush home to join my family for dinner, so I left without sitting in at her house.
And this brings us to Sunday. Today, Cx accompanied me to the city area to finish up with the rest of the photos. Started at Marina Barrage. For his assignment, he was like begging for the rain so he could get a nice shot of people crowding in the small shelter. Unfortunately, it didn't came.
Had a freaking long walk pass this atas park thing which I never knew existed. It lead to this bridge called "The Bridge". We climbed up a flight of stairs at a rather abandoned and ulu place, walked beside the highway (aka "The Bridge") for quite a distance, and got down at another flight of stairs into an even more abandoned and ulu place, and then headed to Marina Square. Basically, instead of walking straight to Marina Square from Marina Barrage, we walked one whole round around the river, not because our sense of direction sucked but because somehow that's the direction everyone was coming from. It just doesn't make sense.
Had dinner at Hans before continuing sneakily taking shots of families playing bowling, buying movie tickets, and playing the UFO machines. Went to take shots of people watching the performance outside Esplanade, and then shots of people watching the laser show. Kids playing with the bubbles. When the bubbles came out, everyone was aiming their camera up to capture the magical moment, and then there was me, aiming at kids playing with the bubbles. Even though I took a lot, there wasn't a nice shot :( The lighting sucked.
So that's that. This assignment, I have to say, was fun. This week was pretty good.
