A Surprise Yacht Party

The closest I have to a group photo

On Saturday, I was suppose to go to Jt's house for housewarming. It would've also been the last time I met up with Guangyi and Zixing before they enlist into NS (although we can still meet after they enlist). Buuuut, these guys in the photo (plus-minus people) practically manipulated me to go meet them instead. They said that because Cx was going to NS soon, they wanted to surprise him, which made very little sense but I would feel super bad if I didn't go. I wanted to meet them first, and then go to the housewarming, but the housewarming changed time due to Jt's job being kind of assholeic.

The point is, it was actually a surprise super advance birthday celebration for Pascal and I (who share the same birthday), and now that I think about it, it takes a lot of ignorance for me to not figure out something is wrong. Throughout the whole thing, I just kept thinking that Stef and Matin were really shit at planning because suddenly, I was told on the day itself that we were going to Sentosa Cove instead of the beach (and I went to buy a daiso ball T_T).

So most of the girls headed there first. The taxi ride there was quite troublesome. When we finally reached our destination, we met up with Joey and Hazel, and then I was all like "why are you dressed like you're going on a vacation?" and Joey was like "why did you buy a ball?" and I was like "because we're going to a beach?" and she was like "no, we're not going to a beach!"

And then she lead me to this yacht, which contained Stefanie and Avelin waving at us, and I was like "wait, what's going on?", and Joey was like "we booked a yacht" and I was like "you book a freaking yacht??? Why didn't I know about it!?" and they revealed that this 'surprise Cx party' was actually a 'surprise Pascal and I party'.

So they did the surprise party stuffs: Hang up balloons, paste a banner, put up colourful flags, brought lots of snacks, food items, and so on. It took me awhile before I noticed the banner. Was really surprised because they did these for us and they booked a freaking yacht, which should be quite expensive.

It was quite a unique experience for me, just pretending to be a rich dude and enjoying the wind and "passing rain", which really isn't passing at all.

We thought the sailor was bringing us island hopping because apparently that's what they wrote on their website or something, but it turned out that we were just passing these islands and learning about them. We did stop at this 'luxury island' and swam in the bay.

Finally, the ball I bought came to use, although I was pretty much the only one playing with it.

So we stayed there for quite a while, and then we all decided to paddle the small boat thing (meant for 3 people) to another island. The sailor guy gave us the idea to paddle and tie a rope to a float behind where the others could hold on to. And Matin and I were the only ones paddling, so we were paddling forward and the current was bringing us backward. In general, we stayed in our position, and then we gave up.

Stefanie, Avelin, and I then decided to paddle off on our own. It was possible, very tiring, but fun. We wanted to head to the island which supposingly had very clear water. Ended up on the wrong island - St John Island - so we turned back and paddled towards another island, which was probably the right one. But it didn't have super clear water. So, we headed back to the boat. The whole journey took quite a long time.

Everyone got out of the water and some of us chatted with the sailor guy. He tested us Chinese and English word games because he used to be a teacher. For one of it, he said he would give us one hour off if we got it right, but of course, we didn't.

After some time, we begun moving back to Sentosa Cove.

Afterwards, we just headed to the beach to play in the water and role-play the unsullied in Game of Thrones and stuff. It started pouring, so we stopped and dinnered and homed.

So yeah, that was the day. Much thanks to you all! Pascal's speech covered everything I wanted to say.
