Everyone brisk-walking
Trying to be on time for a meeting
Rushing for the schedule and for friends
Forgetting to take a deep breath
People losing patience
Feeling so annoyed, tapping their fingers
Demanding everyone to speed up
What happened to patience through time?
Alarm clocks, honks of cars
We are surrounded by noise
We sped up, we lost peace
We forgot to look at the sky
To look at the sunrise brightening up our days
Then we start to live in a world of fears
Then we see ugliness in everyone's hearts
Can't laugh, can't cry
Can't let them know what we're feeling
Can't trust anyone of them
Then we start to cry every night alone
Then we smile in front of everyone else
So to show
We are sane and we are strong
When a Friday's coming
We start pretending to be happy
Though we have to start facing the truth
No more work to fill our minds
Then we say, "Let's party!"
We are society's slaves
"I am cool, I am in"
That is what we constantly tell ourselves
"Loneliness", that is our worst nightmares
Then we look at ourselves in the mirror
Then we ask, "Who are you? I've never seen you"
Who am i now
I am who they want me to be
I don't belong to me
Then tears start rolling down our plastic cheeks
Then we say, "I want to be myself!"
Be the one
Who once laughed without much care
Let's take off our masks and show our faces
Let's just say, "I am me. I am not your slave!"
I'm me, goodbye
I don't need you to change my life for me
I don't belong to you
Then tears start rolling down our genuine cheeks
Then we say, "I want to be myself!"
Then we laugh
As we once did with no care
