Deluding yourself

Some people just love to deceive their minds by constantly lying, not only to people around, but also themselves. And the thing is that they aren't even rare; people who cheat and people who pretend.

Cheaters in general should not be considered as people who are deluding themselves. I'm talking about people who cheat in competitions. I've not experienced getting cheated in any competition before, because i have not taken part in any for a long, long time. But still, i find it laughable when people cheat in competition or something similar. It does not need to be a competition that is taken part in on the spot, but it can be the breaking of a record or a long-term competition for a position. When a person cheat in a competition, he ends up winning, possibly. And then he gets happy that he wins. It's not too bad if he's required to win and he win because of a benefit that he gets. It's bad, but he isn't deluding himself. It is definitely more pathetic if a person who obviously cannot win by fair means is proud of himself when he wins by cheating. I wanted to talk about this because i was playing this online game and then i saw someone using a hack. And it reminds me of people who use something called bot in online role playing games. Bot is a system that helps you to play your character without you needing to do anything. You just need to start this system, edit a little information and let it play your character. Actually i'm not too sure even though i've tried it before. So these people use the bot to level up their game characters without spending any effort, and when they do they get happy. He's a high-level character while others are not. But the truth is, it is self-delusion.

Some people also pretend. They pretend to be people whom they are not. By doing this, they are making themselves seem cool or interesting, when in fact deep inside they're just normal people who aren't that amazing. And then the people who pretend start to feel insecure. They live within lies and start feeling unsure and confused. That is because they are deceived; by themselves, that is. When one is deceived, he loses trust and becomes unsure. And these people delude themselves more to make themselves feel better. It worsens everything.

So, there is no point in self-deluding. You can lie to yourself for a long time, but soon you're just making yourself lose out in the end. Just stick to the truth and be honest. Live life the way you should and compete in a fair manner. Don't make other people lose; make yourself win.
